Bella Sling Wraps

Bella Slings Wrap

A wrap is a single length of fabric that, when wrapped properly around your body, will hold your baby in a very secure, tight hold.  Wraps are wonderful for tiny babies who want to be held very close to your body to feel secure, and for bigger babies who are too heavy to carry in your arms  for long periods of time.

Wraps provide wonderful back, neck, and head support for newborn babies and they also evenly distribute the weight across both of your shoulders and your back and create wonderful support for the wearer.  This is a great answer for people with back problems, because it better distributes the weight of your baby and supports your back.

You can wrap your baby from newborn until you can't carry them around anymore.  You can wrap your baby facing in, facing out, on your hip, and on your back.  When my daughter was younger and lighter I would wrap her and we would go for long walks.  She would generally fall asleep with her head nestled on my chest as I walked off those post-partum blues.

Pros: The wrap is so wonderful for new babies.  It gives fabulous head, neck, and back support for the baby, as well as great back support for the wearer.  The wrap can be used to carry your baby in front of you, on your back, or on your hip, so you will always be able to find a comfortable way to wear your baby for each activity.

Cons:  The wrap requires a bit more prep time than any of the other slings.  You have to wrap the 6 yards of fabric around you properly so that you can put the baby in the sling and this does take a couple minutes (or longer as you are first learning).  Once you get it down it goes quickly, but the wrap is more complicated to learn than the ring or native sling.  It is also much bulkier to carry around with you.

Bella Wraps feature a strip of colorful fabric in the center of the sling to help make putting the sling on easier.  This strip is also a pocket for storing keys, pacifiers, etc.  Wraps are wonderfully versatile carriers.  You can wrap your baby to your front, to your back, or even on your hip.

You can choose from any of our fabrics for your wrap, or you can simply choose a solid color for the "tails" of your sling.   I recommend a solid colored sling, because patterned fabric generally has a "wrong" side of the fabric that has a faded, unfinished look.  This is not as much of a problem with a native sling, but with a wrap, you will see this unfinished side when you wear it.  I only have a few color choices for the center panel of the sling: brown, black, blue, cream, and white.  I can look for other colors depending on the color of the "tails" of your sling.
